Fábio Cepeda is a founding partner of Cepeda Advogados. Mr. Cepeda has a vast corporate practice with emphasis on asset management and private equity, wealth and state planning and corporate law. He is also an active practitioner is merger and acquisition transactions involving primarily investment managers.

Mr. Cepeda’s asset management & private equity practice focuses on the formation and operation of Brazilian and offshore investment funds, including hedge funds, equity and fixed income funds, fund of funds, credit funds and private equity funds, formed either as stand-alone, umbrella, segregated portfolios, side-by-side or master/feeder structures; the organization and ongoing advice to investment managers, advisers and other financial service companies, including the formation and registration with Brazilian and foreign authorities, corporate governance and compliance matters; investment, capital, sharehoding and employment arrangements and agreements; merger and acquisitions transactions of investment managers, advisers and other financial service companies; and capital raising structures and transactions, including seed capital arrangements. Mr. Cepeda advises Private Clients on their Wealth and Estate Planning, in Brazil and other jurisdictions.

He was a legal manager of Capital Markets’ division at Banco Itaú from 2002 to 2003, and general counsel for BBA Investimentos DTVM S.A., a company of the BBA-Creditanstalt Group, from 1995 and 2002.

Mr. Cepeda worked over a year (in 1999) in Los Angeles, for the Capital Group, one of the largest investment management companies worldwide.
