She is a member of the asset management, investment funds and private equity practice group. She focuses her practice on advising investment managers of registered funds and other financial services providers. She counsels clients on various legal and regulatory matters, including derivatives documentation, performance advertising reviews and drafting and reviewing documentation for the formation, organization and ongoing operations of registered funds. Maria Estela has experience advising mutual funds and private equity funds in Brazil and abroad on issues related to new fund development and launch, compliance and regulatory issues, including the implementation of new rules, fund mergers, liquidations, and restructuring transactions.

Maria Estela is admitted at the Brazilian Bar of São Paulo and served as an associate at Cepeda Advogados since 2019. Prior to joining the firm, she was an in-house counsel of The Bank of New York Mellon Brazil.
